PPK - ResuRection

Katya Chehova - Vortex Involute

Since I live in Nackas own Little Russia I think it's time for some Putin Pop. PPK is a Russian trance duo and ResuRection is based on Eduard Artemyev's electronic soundtrack to Andrei Konchalovsky's movie Siberiade. Katya Chehova is a Russian Dance star and I choose this video of hers because Vladimir Putin is flexing his muscles on her TV. I wonder if she adores him or tries to escape from him?

This was a perfect sunday for the hammock première 2008.

This is the Comandante of my balcony. I think that's more than enough responsibility for old Che.

sébastien tellier - sexual sportswear

Another great song from Sébastien Telliers latest album Sexuality.

south park - over logging

I haven't watched South Park for quite some time now but I decided to check out the latest episode. I did not regret that. It was a brilliant episode about the internet. South Park and the US had used up all their internet and Stan and the Marsh family becomes internet refugees and head out the Californee way in their search for some internet. They hope that there's still is some internet in Silicon Valley, at least the rumours says so. Many tech blogs, like Gizmodo for example, have had a lot of fun since AT&T's VP for Legislative Affairs Jim Cicconi said almost exactly the same thing as Randy: "We are going to be butting up against the physical capacity of the internet by 2010." Or as Randy put it: "It's easy for us to think we can just use up all the internet we want but...it could one day be gone forever."

So, it seems like the market focus on harvesting the profits instead of investing some of it in building a new internet infrastructure with larger capacity. So what's the market solution? Well, no government intervention of course and then some traffick management/regulations on top of that. No wonder Apple wasn't worried to release the iPhone whithout 3G capacity in the states. If the market decides then there will never be a 3G or 4G communications system in the states. It's too expensive to build and will have a negative impact on the short term profits and the shareholders confidence in the internet and telecom providers.

battlestar galactica - the ties that bind

This was an excellent episode. Battlestar Galactica is back to being a really dark space opera instead of a war series. I'm sure those who love space marines running around shouting will be disappointed but I'm not.

Warning: minor spoilers ahead!

The tensions amongst both humans and cylons are growing and results in some violent conflicts. Brother Cavil is reincarnated and continues his conflict with the sixes and the eigths. I loved the scene where Six had to say please to a Cylon raider to make it accept her order and Brother Cavils response to that: "You’re going to find that you’ve opened a bigger can of worms than you thought." I'm a bit curious about the future for the number threes and the hybrids. I hope they'll be back.

Lee Adama and his father Admiral Adama seems to be destined to end up in a conflict with President Roslin eventhough the Admiral is doing whatever he can to avoid it. The President is very displeased with Admiral Adamas decision to let Starbuck have the sewage recycling ship Demetrius for her private search for a way back to earth.

The story about the Final Five and the four that we know are in the human fleet continues to be interesting. Galen has serious marital problems and Tory shows that she's a really cool/cold cylon. As Brother Cavil so nicely put it when Boomer asks about their souls: "We're machines, we don't have any."

This is a song from M83's latest album Saturdays = Youth. My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain are never bad influences in my world.

sébastien tellier - divine

I have to admit that I like this song. It's the French entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. I think it has a nice 1970's Beach Boys sound.

battlestar galactica - six of one

It seems like I actually do have to watch season three of Battlestar Galactica now. The first two episodes of season four are not bad at all. Maybe a bit too emotional, or outright melodramatic, from time to time. But the cylons and the metaphysics are back. So why complain? I like this philosophical and ethical conflict among the cylons and the search for The Final Five. I also love Dean Stockwell as Brother Cavil/Number One. Cynical cyberntic organisms are always cool if you're a nerd. And I am. So, it's cool. It also seems like ballet is the next big thing among female cybernetic organisms. Both Number Eight and the terminator Cameron have showed great skills in this classic and very human art form. Who would have thought?

battlestar galactica season four

Battlestar Galactica is back. I really loved the first season but during season two I became increasingly frustrated because of the new focus on war and the lack of focus on ideas, mystery and the Cylon agenda and beliefs. My friends have told me that the third season was great so I'll probably have to check it out. So, how was the first episode of the fourth and last season? Well, I liked it. Not fantastic but good enough. Seems like the religious theme and the Cylons are back in focus. And my favourite character from season one is back in style, well almost my favourite since Number Six was my true favourite. Gaius Baltar has been turned into a Lucifer/Christ figure which suits him perfectly. It will be interesting to see what they will make out of this. I'll give season four of Battlestar Galactica a chance and I look forward to the next episode.

A brilliant little song. Neon Neon is a duo from Cardiff & Los Angeles. In this song the duo actually is a trio since the Welsh singer Cate Le Bon helps out.
