the sarah connor chronicles - the demon hand

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has found a new interesting theme to explore. Can machines have a "soul" and are they still machines if they have a "soul"? The question is raised when the terminator Cameron starts to show some new interesting skills. We finally get to meet Doctor Silberman again, the doctor responsible for Sarahs treatment during her stay at Pescadero State Hospital. That's the mental hospital we all remember from T2. He has withdrawn from society and moved to a house up in the mountains. He still has vivid memories of what happened the day Sarah Connor escaped from the hospital. That's where the "demon hand" or the "hand of god" comes into the picture. Both Sarah and the FBI agent Ellison are looking for him. Neither doctor Silberman nor agent Ellison have the best day of their lives in this episode. Cameron is sent after Dmitri and the Turk (a chess computer). To get close to him she starts to take ballet classes from Dmitris sister. It's obvious that Summer Glau actually knows how to dance. I hope the series will explore the terminator Camerons interest in ballet and Chopin and what that implies. As Sarah says: "machines cannot appreciate beauty, they cannot create art. If they ever learn these things, they won't have to destroy us. They'll BE us." Are Cameron and the terminators turning into Cylons? Maybe she not only know how to dance - maybe she's religious too?

a decade of electroclash

i-f - space invaders are smoking grass (1997)

miss kittin & the hacker - 1982 (1998)

Just felt like I wanted to celebrate a decade of electroclash. I-F released what probably is the first electroclash song that was made, Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass, back in 1997. And in 1998 Miss Kittin & The Hacker released their song 1982. Since I was 17 1982 I really enjoy this music. It sounds a whole lot like the 80's ought to have sounded like. More bass, beats, party and fun.

flu central

This is where I try to kill time while I'm home with the flu. I think it's pretty damn impressive that I've managed to have both types of influenza in less than two weeks! The type I have now was definitely the worst. I had the shivers for two days. Slept for 30 hours while having crazy Tetris like dreams. It was pure madness!

lost - 4:03 the economist

Right now Lost is up there with Twin Peaks and Riget as one of the best TV-series ever. The plot is brilliant, interesting and mysterious. The dialoge believable and tight. The characters manage to stay believable eventhough everything else is a total mystery. They have human emotions and weaknesses. Like Sayid in this episode. Naveen Andrews does a great job when he gives this former officer in the Iraqi Republican Guard both a big brain and a big heart. Not that common in american shows nowadays. Arabs are usually portrayed as evil extremists. But Sayid is a welcome exception. As usually a lot of new questions are raised in this episode. Have Sayid met Naomi before? How come both Naomi and Elsa had the same type of bracelet? Inside Naomis bracelet the words "I will always be with you R.C." So who is this R.C.? Naomi was hired by Matthew Abaddon. The same scary dude who visited Hurley at the mental hospital. Did he hire Elsa too or is he just a middleman? And Daniel Faraday discovered some weird shit about the island. 31 minutes. That is not good! I really don't know what more to ask for from this show. It has beautiful assassins. Weird scientists. Mysterious men and women. Strange conspiracies. And you never ever can be sure who is good and who is bad. You don't even know if good or bad exist on this island. Well, here's another long week of waiting for the next episode...

lost - 4:02 confirmed dead

Now there's no doubt any longer. Lost is the TV shit this season. Episode two, Confirmed Dead, of Lost Season 4 was pure brilliance. I like the new characters, especially Jeremy Davies as the weird scientist Daniel Faraday and Ken Leungs ghostbuster Miles Straume. Michael Emerson continues to impress. His character Ben Linus is like a weird fusion of Dale Cooper and Windom Earle. It's impossible to know if he's good or evil or both. By now it seems like he will be even more important to the mystery of Lost than he was in the last season. He seems to be very well connected for a person living on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere.

I'm stuck in Psychic TV land. Unclean was recorded live in 1984.

heartsrevolution - c.y.o.a

Another excellent track from HEARTSREVOLUTION.

the sarah connor chronicles - heavy metal

As you can see there's a serious personality crisis in this episode. The show continues to be entertaining but what I really miss now is a good story that connects the chases and a trust in that story from the scriptwriters and the producers. I want more mystery, more surprises and more interesting characters. John Connor running from the Terminator was fun for one episode. But after that the series need development. What are Cromartie's (that's the main Terminator) plans? Why not do more about those? Is he involved in this seed of a manufacturing plant? Does he use humans? Does he infiltrate useful organizations or has Skynet already done that? What about Andy Goode and the Turk? Will he be back? What is he doing right now? Why not use all these good ideas to create a really strong foundation story wise? Right now the story starts to feel thin and fragmented.

psychic TV - godstar

Psychic TV performing Godstar.

This is a story, a very special story.
It's about Brian Jones, one of the Rolling Stones.

Where were you when the stars went out?
Where were you when they started to shout?
I saw you alone by the pool,
and all your friends called you a fool.
Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. God.......star.

And you were so beautiful, you were so very special,
I wish I was with you now, I wish I could save you somehow.

Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. God.......star.
Brian, Brian, Brian.
Brian, Brian, Brian.
Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. God.......star.

Where were all your friends that night
as you switched off the final light?
I saw your body in the water
Like a lamb going to the slaughter

And where were all of your laughing friends?
Where were they at the very end?
They started to steal your glory
They never even told your story

Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. Godstar, Godstar. God.......star.

i've seen a wild lynx!

Last weekend I saw a wild lynx walking over a field at my parents place outside Uppsala. It was beautiful and bigger than I thought it would be. I've only seen them at Skansen before. Like the one above. This was something else. At first we actually thought it was a wolf. But the color was kind of wrong and it had no tail.

lost - 4:01 the beginning of the end

I've really been looking forward to a new season of Lost. The last ten or so episodes of season three were among the best I've ever seen on TV. So I had quite high hopes for the season four premiere. I wasn't disappointed. This was great television. The episode was Hurley centric. And just as in the last episode of season three we got flash forwards instead of flashbacks. It worked perfectly. The script was excellent. The episode was very dark and sad. No revelations. Just more questions. Who are on the boat? What does Hurley actually see? What is Jacob up to? Are Hurleys visitors friends of foes? Maybe both? If the series continues like this it will be hard to beat. I like TTSCC for example - but episodes like this one plays in a totally different league. You can't compare them. Now I have to wait one long week for the next episode. It sucks!

By the way! Don't skip the recap "Past, present and future". It was a good summary of the previous episodes and kind of like meeting an old friend.
