Another super cold day.

ellen allien & apparat - way out

This song is from Ellen Alliens & Apparats Orchestra of Bubbles (BPitch Control, 2006) album. Brilliant electronica for dance and/or travel.

green light

A runned over green light...

the classless society

Me and some colleagues of mine went and visited a school at Djurgården. Schools look very different depending on where you live in Sweden. When wealthy people in Sweden claims that there are no classes in Sweden anymore I can only say - what the f**k! Sweden is once again turning into a society where your social background is more important than your qualifications. Where poverty is an accepted tool to force people to take jobs no one wants because they are dangerous, degrading and under paid. And where your social background determines what kind of education you'll be offered. It's time to fight back!

tv party tonight

Heroes and Rome are back! Heroes starts exactly where it ended in December. Peter Petrelli is in a coma and the Haitian has erased the memories of all people who witnessed Sylers attack on the cheerleader Claire. The Haitian continues his own mysterious agenda and Hiro looks for his sword. It was a good start after the cristmas break. Not as good as episode 11. But good. There are some interesting new threads that I look forward to see how they'll develop. Especially the Haitians secret agenda (is it a secret?), Peter Perellis interest in Ted the radioactive man and the new character Claude. I really hope that Eden isn't as dead as this episode suggests. If so I'll miss her a lot.

Rome also had a great start. There have only been two episodes so far. But I liked them. I don't think it's a farfetched guess that this season will focus on the Second Triumvirate and Gaius Octavians long and violent way to power. It will also be interesting to see what will happen to Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo. I have a feeling that they might find themselves supporting opposing forces in the near future. Lucius is connected to Marcus Antonius and Titus is close to Octavian. All the tragedies that have struck Lucius lately have taken their toll. He has started to call himself a "Son of Hades" and has been chosen by Marcus Antonius to take care of Romes criminal elements. Seems like they have all the necessary elements to make great entertainment. I hope they don't blow it.

happiness

Two brilliant party tunes for dark winter nights and bright summer nights.

Tom Tom Club - Genius Of Love

The second single from Tom Tom Clubs classic first album. Makes me wanna dance right away. You can't fail with a song like this.

The Streets - Fit But You Know It (MC version)

I luv this video! It feels just like Fibban and it's so much better than the album version which just features Skinner. In this one he's together with Kano, Tinchy Stryder, Don'eo & Lady Sovereign. It's so brilliant that you wanna get crunk and party all night long.

The snow made me wanna go out. So I went to Snottys. I know. I've been there before. Had a photo duel with the Captain.

Finally the snow came. I've been waiting for it a long time now. Where are my skies?

I almost didn't recognize that bright spot in the sky. But it actually was the sun.

music for a day in coma

Here are some nice tunes for time travel or a couple of days in coma.

Dawid Bowie - Life On Mars

This Bowie classic plays an important part in both the first and the last episode of the BBC series "Life on Mars". It's from his 1971 Hunky Dory album, it was also released as a single in 1973.

The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses (live 1976)

Wild Horses also features in Life On Mars (episode four). It's a song from Rolling Stones brilliant 1971 album Sticky Fingers. This video is from Knebworth 1976 and as you can see Mick Jaggers sense of style had disappeared by then (if he ever had it). After this came a decade of neon colored tights.

life on mars - season one

I've enjoyed all eight episodes of Life On Mars first season this weekend. It's bloody brilliant! British TV at its best. Modern-day policeman Sam Tyler is hit by a car in 2006 and wakes up in 1973. There he tries to understand what is happening to him. He finds out that he's working for the Manchester Police under DCI Gene Hunt and makes an attempt to continue as usual. But sometimes he hears strange voices from radios and TV:s that seems to be from the hospital in 2006 where he's in a coma. He is also haunted by a very creapy girl and her freaky clown doll from the 1973 BBC test card. She's one of the scariest girls I've seen since the girls in the Shining. The series is both fun, exploiting the many culture clashes that occur between a 2006 policeman in 1973 Manchester. No computers, no mobile phones, sexism, racism etc. It's also a great police drama set in the 70's and a very spooky drama about a mans search in his own childhood and subconcious. As I said - it's brilliant! The 70's soundtrack is perfect and so is the photography and the actors. Especially Philip Glenister as Sams boss Gene Hunt (Is that intentional? Gene Hunt? Sam revisiting his own past as an adult?). Since I'm 41, turning 42 soon, I had constant flashbacks watching it. Sam Tyler walks into a small record store back in 1973 and says that he bought his first single there - Cars by Gary Numan! The child Sam , who's also in the series, plays with exactly the same kind of old school north sea diver doll (with a heavy diving helmet) as I had as a kid. I just waited for him to watch an episode of Catweaszle since he also was a time traveller! This series is a perfect combination of Get Carter and The Singing Detective. It starts 21.20 tonight (Sunday) in Sweden at SVT 2. Do your self a favour and check it out.

my sick room

Here's looking in at my sick room from my balcony. I've been spending a lot of time on my back in here the last days. Luckily I've had plenty of movies and TV-series on my iBook.

pain

I've had this really bad pain in my neck and my shoulder the last week. Couldn't sleep - so it drove me crazy. First I tried ordinary pain killers but they did absolutely nothing. Then I tried Tramadol and boy did that work. After the first two I felt like I had this really friendly electric charge through my body. I was floating between the sheets in my bed and had some great dreams. But then after those two they just took the pain away. Not as fun - but that's what they are for so I don't complain. But they didn't do anything about the inflammation in my muscles unfortunately. So I went to the doctor and got these nice little red pills called Diclofenac. They worked perfectly. So I'm feeling better now. I hate backache!

starlight

Had a clear beautiful night yesterday. Full of stars. That's one of the things I like with Fiskis. It's not that much light pollution here so you can still see the stars on a clear night.

down under

My neighbour down under still has the christmas spirit imprisoned on their balcony.

neighbour

One of my neighbours. He doesn't like the elevator so he usually takes the stairs.

morning train

On my way to the commuter and another work day. There's a full moon behind the clouds.

We went to Snottys after midnight and became the first customers of 2007! That was one very unnecessary beer. It made me feel very tired the next day.

The view from Freddes appartment and some nice fireworks. This view reminded me of the Nakatomi Plaza in the first Die Hard movie.

old skool new year

Here you have two brilliant songs from our old skool new years eve.

The Prodigy - "Everybody in the place" from their excellent first album. Let's go!

The KLF - "3 a.m. Eternal" from their The White Room album. The KLF is gonna rock you!
